The unforgettable visit to Gramvousa island and Balos beach is a must for anyone looking to spend a day in paradise.

We will start our trip to Gramvousa island and Balos beach early in the morning and head to the west of Crete. On a half way we will make our first stop next to the village of Skaleta, where you will have time to relax, drink some coffee or enjoy your breakfast. Moving on, we will pass by the cities of Rethimno and Chania and after a while arrive at the port of Kissamos. Here we will take a ferry and continue our trip to the island of Gramvousa.

During the cruise we have a chance to admire a vast cave – most likely an ancient shipyard, sea turtles or monk seals and of course, the dolphins of the area.

After an hour boat trip we disembark at the island of Gramvousa also known as the “Pirates’ Island”. Here you have time to visit the Venetian castle that prevails on the highest spot of the island, at the top of an extremely sheer cliff. The stunning view from its walls, its grandeur as well as the legend about hidden pirate treasures prompt us to visit it.

Leaving the island we will head for the Blue lagoon of Balos bay, one of the loveliest places in Greece. The view of the lagoon is truly breathtaking. The splendid beach with its white sand, jade-green and turquoise waters, the warm and shallow sea and the wild natural beauty of Balos will surely remind you some exotic beaches in the Caribbean.

These few hours of solitude in such a paradise will definitely stay in our memory forever.
