Jeep Safari to Plateau Lassithi is the best way to explore the Cretan mountains, learn the Greek myths and the local way of life.

We will start our adventure following the beautiful route through lush olive groves and reach the ruins of the Roman aqueduct in Lyttos. Few minutes later we will make a stop at the traditional village of Kastamonitsa. Here you will have the opportunity to walk through its narrow streets and taste the real Greek coffee at the traditional coffee shop.

Afterwards we will start our ascent using dirt roads and enjoying stunning views. Passing by the monastery of Agia Anna, we will reach the Limnakaro Plateau at an altitude of 1150 meters. You will get to know the architecture of “mitata”, the stone made refuges of the local shepherds. The view from there is really amazing and will definitely reward you.

Heading to Plateau Lassithi we will stop at the famous cave of Zeus. According the Greek mythology the father of the gods Zeus was born here.

Right after that you will enjoy an authentic meal, typical of the traditional Cretan cuisine in one of the best local taverns.

Then we will go through Seli where you will be surely enchanted by the landscape and the pictures you will take from this point will be the best of your holiday.

Continuing the descend we will reach the traditional village of Krasi. You will admire the 2000 years old giant plane tree and the ancient natural water spring.

Finally, through a beautiful route with a very nice view we get back to the hotel full of memories.
